So I know I love posting these lovely, time taking, recipes. And of course, in hopes of you all making them yourself. Sparking an interest in you- to motivate you to create your own sort of recipe, etc. The creativity continues... But- being realistic. We can't always make stuff. I know, believe me, it even happens to me. If your not prepared- it can be very frustrating! I'm an actress- and on the go to auditions all the time. Before work. Thankfully my work serves food, vegan food, the best actually ;) Besides the point- We all need a snack with us, or to eat our breakfast wrapped up in a paper towel. Main point is- you must be prepared! Always have something with you- because if not, those times when your beyond hungry and have no options around, are no good. I am trying to help you avoid those times! So here are some of my favorite go to's when I'm on the road- again. ;) or even at home, but you truly just wanna grab something sit down and relax. I get it. This happens to me rarely- but indeed, it does happen. Some days get the best of us, and we just want it to be put on the table for us. Pretty sure thats why they invented 'the restaurant' back in the day. ;) Thankful for that idea! Sometimes all we have is a pot and a pan and even a toaster. Gotta make the most of what you have! Let's start with breakfast This used to be a very difficult time for me. When first becoming vegan. I couldn't figure out a meal for the life of me! But I since then have created lots of recipes for 'breakfast'. Which you can make if you have a little bit more time on your hands in the morning. Tofu Scrambles, Pancakes or Waffles, Vegan Sausages, and Banana French Toast. But again- for the on the go morning person. Here are a few recipes- and non recipes. Let's face it- when your on the go, sometimes, it's easier to just grab a protein bar, or have some cereal. I'm not on of those people who like to make a protein bar, I don't trust myself that it would be good :/ But there are tons of recipes out there- and if you think you could, you should go for it! ;) Otherwise, here are my favorite brands of products as well. *PureFit Protein Bars *Nature's Path Organic Cereal topped with Blueberries +1 tbsp chia seeds *Ezkiel Bread or Natures Path Vegan Waffles -topped with Almond butter or Peanut Butter if you prefer. + Sliced banana + sprinkle of cinnamon and chia seeds. (my favorite breakfast.) + Sprinkle with 1 tbsp chia seeds -I do this with everything! Chia seeds are awesome. + Also really good if you top with fresh blueberries. *Green Smoothies -you know I have a million recipes for these! *Muffins -you could make these when you do have time and then have left overs for a bit :) *Yogurt with berries or nuts *Oatmeal with berries or nuts and for the Non Vegan- All of the answers up there would equally be ok for you- as well as not worrying about whether or not the product is vegan. BUT I will say, no matter what you are carnivore, herbivore- look at the labels when it comes to packaged food. Always strive for Organic, and always read ingredients to make sure that it is only Whole wheat. It will say Whole - before the word wheat, any time referring to wheat. If it just says wheat, or unbleached wheat- still not 100%! There are products out there that are 100% also! So look for them! Kashi and Nature's Path are really good brands when it comes to being %100 Whole. Ezekiel Tortilla with Black Beans and egg whites +salsa English Muffin with veg. sausage + egg whites + salsa Egg white scramble with spinach and onions. French Toast with Ezekiel Bread snacks Almonds!!!! I love Trader Joe's for packing individual sized raw almond packs. I take one with me in my car. Apple or any fruit. Whole Wheat pita with Hummus Banana with almond butter Kale Chips Sweet Potato- Slice up a sweet potato, then cut pieces into 4's. Cook in boiling water for about 10-15 m. Strain, Serve in bowl, Ketchup or Cashew Cheeze for dipping. Lunch and/or Dinner
*Tacos - Simply the easiest , Just cook black beans with spices. Warm Corn tortillas, top with cilantro, salsa, avocado and cashew cheeze. *Burrito- Same as the taco! Just use Ezekiel tortilla; If you like rice in your burrito's usually, then try quinoa. It's very fast to cook! *Veg Burger or Sandwich- My usual go to- All you need is 2 pieces of Ezekiel Bread ,Bun or Pita. Hummus or Cashew Cheeze to add as spread. Avocado, Cilantro, Veg patty (I like Vegan Boca Burgers) Spinach, Carrots, Sprouts. *Basic 3 meal.- Meaning a green, a grain, a protein. + sauce. I would say if time is not on your side, then quinoa is the best grain choice, it's very fast to cook. Plus just make a lot when you do, store it in your fridge and it'll be ready next time you want some! I like to do shredded kale with Black Beans and quinoa, topped with cashew cheeze. *Salad. -Any bed of greens topped with as many veggies as you'd like! Black Beans are real good on salads! +cashew cheeze *Tofu stir fry- Can be very fast. Grill Tofu with Bragg's amino acids. Steam Broccoli and Kale. Drain, add together. Really good! If you have any questions about this- please leave a comment, I'd be happy to answer :)
