If I didn't know any better- I'd laugh at you if you told me it were December! Yikes. 80 degress for basically the next week here in L.A. I hope all of you in normal weather places are enjoying cold & snow. I was looking forward to that at the beginning of this month. But I was fooled. I actually out on my bikini today and layed by the pool. Haven't done that since August. My goodness! But I'm going with it. It did feel really nice. Not gonna lie. I would like to see some snow though, just sayin ! ;)
I hope you all enjoyed your Dec. 25th, and for whatever that day meant to you! For me it was Christmas + and my anniversary with my boyfriend. (Yay we did it!) Lol. 3 years! Pretty exciting. We decided to nix our plans, which was just our usual- going to the movies as our first was 3 years ago, and making a romantic dinner <3 For spending time with my family. Which always wins over everything. Plus it's rare for my sister to live in the same state as me. So for once we decided to drive down and visit and had a blast. Even stayed up til 6 am. Don't recommend that! :/ Still recovering. But for christmas I got workout clothes and other cool stuff from my mom & sister. And also an awesome watch I've been wanting for workouts. Since I don't go to the gym. I wanted some way to record or track the actual calories I was burning and monitor my heart rate. And OMG. Just got home from doing my normal workout with it. Pleasantly surprised! I seem to range from 125--177, with it mainly staying at 135-145. But now that I can see it, I'm motivated to move faster and I did! I ran all the way home and I never do that! I knew this watch would inspire me, so I'm excited about working out now. I really just want to see what happens when I do videos at home. I never have any idea if I am getting my heart rate up enough or what I'm burning so I'm looking forward to it! :) Going to do a toning video after I take down christmas decor. Yes- I am quick to take everything down! I like things to be clean again. I love the decor before- but I also like to get back into focus mode. The 'black out" is almost finished. And I will be auditioning again starting the 6th when it's all back and running. I'm trying to get extra extra prepared for it! I want to start this year off with a BANG. I am going into 2014, believing in myself and all that I'm capable of. No regrets. No excuses. Just moving forward. I'd love to hear your new years goals in the comments below! :) <3

It may not be snowing in L.A, but there are snow balls!
>>> Dessert for tonight! Just created this recipe. So excited to share this with my boyfriends family. "Raw Snow Balls" : 1 tbsp. Cacao 1 tbsp. Almond butter 1/2 C Cashews 1/2 C Almonds 1 tsp. agave 1 cup pitted dates Food processed. Then roll around into balls in the palm of your hand. Rolled in "snow" white chia seeds + unsweetened coconut. As the year begins to close I always like to reflect on what happened this year. Did I achieve the goals I set for myself at the beginning, or how close did I come to them. Etc. And I begin to prepare for new goals I set for myself Jan 1st.
I love January. Not just cause it's my birthday either ;) I love a new start. Although everyday you wake up is a new start. There is something specifically refreshing about just starting over a new year. The transformation of winter into spring. Etc. I love it. I love the fact that I am transforming every year. To someone stronger and more confident than the last year. For me this year I already will be changing lots of things. And I am ready to have a happier year. I am leaving my job- will be starting something new. I am going to be working out every week and eating very clean, unlike this past year where I allowed myself to many daily treats without balance. This past year has been a very huge learning experience for me on all levels. About people, relationships, life. SO MUCH. I just can't even begin to explain. But as much as this year hurt in many ways. It has made me stronger. And I intend to always become stronger after a storm. I will not allow myself to give up. And I think you should consider the same for yourself. You deserve better. And thankfully- at the end of this year, I'm realizing from it all- I deserve better. And I will receive better by changing my situation and allowing myself to let those good things come to me. Part of this past year I've been quite lazy on the workout schedule. But I'd like to make it a thing. Every sunday. Where I write down my schedule for the week. My plans for workout. And post them in my house and check them off daily. Based on what I have planned in the day. You can create your schedule to fit your regular life schedule. Don't over do yourself- if you'd like to add more on certain days, thats great! But don't feel discouraged if you couldn't do something on a particular day you had planned. Just move it to another day- and KEEP GOING. There is 1 week in 2 days left of this year. I am going to end it with a bang. Join me! Here is a sample of my workout schedule for the coming week. Based off work & christmas. :) Happy Holidays ya'll! Mon. : 5 mi. Walking & 3x Arms Routine Tues. : 3 mi. Walking & 3x Staircase Wed. : Day off * Happy Holidays! * Thurs. : 5 mi. Walking 3x Arms Fri. : 3 mi. Walking & 3x Legs Sat. : 5 mi. Walking & 3 x Arms Sun. 3 mi. Walking & 3x Stairs Yep. You got it! For me, Christmas. And whatever you may celebrate. I have been watching christmas movies. As well as listening to christmas music :) And enjoying our decor every night. We have a tiny tree, but it makes me happy. I took a few photos of my decor to show you. : ) Anywho- I made dinner last night and wanted to share with you. I know I've shared this before along with my other 'mexican' version of it. But I mix it up every time I make it again. This time adding zucchini. Just trying out different veggies to add in. So I made cauliflower rice. Very simple. Then added in different veggies and bragg's amino acids and garlic powder. As my tofu was baking. And top it with green onion of course! So good. -Pulse cauliflower in food processor -Put pulsed 'rice' cauliflower in bigger sauté pan. -Add in veggies, while it is cooking. I added zucchini, mushrooms and bell pepper. -Sprinkle garlic powder, or minced garlic. -I poured 1 tsp-2 tsp of braggs amino acids or low sodium soy sauce. -Let cook until zucchini/mushrooms are cooked. -Stir around while cooking it. And voila ! Added Baked tofu to the top. & green onion. Now for my christmas decor I know you want to see so badly ;)
So today is F-R-I-D-A-Y ya'll! A few of my favorite things right now are.....
-Listening to Christmas music. (I made an awesome playlist on Spotify) -Warm food! Especially SWEET POTATOES! Yum. -Walking (for exercise) outside in the cold! Yeah, I like it ;) -Cold weather in general! I get to wear jackets & scarves and keep them on! and for my favorite. I finally finished my unfinished paintings from the beginning of this year. And yes, they are all for sale on Etsy. but besides that. I'm so obsessed with making 'Treasuries". I love it! Check mine out! I've made about 5 now. All different themes. Mostly christmas inspired. I love doing it . It's really fun. Are you on Etsy? I hope you'll "Favorite" my shop! etsy.com/shop/jkartworkstudio |
